Hi,
Yeah it's fair to say that the venue was the one letdown of the evening - the lighting I wasn't bothered about (when it - apparently - accidentally burst into life for a couple of seconds early on, and when Greg asked for half of the red lights to be turned off, it's probably fair to say that it was an artistic decision).
And to be fair on the crowd, it was practically impossible to dance in there anyway, given that 10 feet from the barrier (which physically and metaphorically divided band and audience) was a massive metal staircase put in side-on that threatened to take the back of anyone's head off who went slightly too close.

It was certainly a different TS gig to most that I had been to, but where the chat and bounciness was absent, it was made up for with lots of noise and a rapt, if health & safety-conscious audience. That still made it a great gig for me, and not even the best efforts of bad architecture could put the mockers on that!

The Academy 3 is the Twilight Singers' home in Manchester, and it's a genuine shame that they went for this place - possibly the venue's website's promise that it could fit 700 people in, which seems somewhat spurious.

As for drugs, not for 15 years but thanks for enquiring :)

Hi, were you on some good drugs last night? In my opinion, far as TS's gigs go this one was really poor.
Not because of the band, but that venue (MOHO Live) let the gig down bigtime!

Ive seen the Twilights now 11 times live and have to admit, between those red backlights and that white fire exit light annoying Greg, the show did not have the usual euphoric energy that comes from a gig. I noticed 2 people fully rocking during one of their biggest songs.... and a few small head nodders, that was it.

So in my opinion, ok sound but poor gig thanks to a slack venue
